In UGENE, can you create a new sequence file and a new annotation table and merge them into a single GenBank file? (ie instead of having two separate linked files can you create a new GenBank file from scratch)

I want to create genbank files de novo in UGENE but the best I've been able to do so far is File->Create Document from text... and then create a separate gb file which stores all the annotations.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Joe,

To merge sequence and annotations into single document select the sequence in ProjectView and call context menu item Export Sequences

After that set output format to Genbank and make sure to check box Export with annotations

Here is the detailed description of Export sequence feature:
http://ugene.unipro.ru/documentation/manual/basic_functions/export_objects/seq_a...

Hope that helps Smiley
