Hi!

Dima, could we ask you to provide us with more information about this issue

1) Did you have old UGENE version installed? If yes, have you removed the old settings (~/.config/Unipro/UGENE.ini)?

2) Could you please tell us which Linux distribution and what desktop environment do you use?

3) Are you sure you not running 32-bit version of UGENE?

Could you also check that UGENE version you use

I've tried to launch v.1.7.1.

The issue concerns a config dir. After .config/Unipro being removed ugene starts work.

May be you should add a warning mess about old config files. It isn't normal behavior for program to get a segfault at the first launch.

Looks like a really big concern.

Before this we had automated installers to deal with .ini  files during setup (like Windows installer). Now, having 'bin' Linux bundle we should be more careful with older ini.

Result: will be fixed in 1.7.2 (first half of the August)
