Hi, when I have an annotated genome from genbank, like for example the  e. coli genome, it would be cool if one could search the annotations, like /gene="lacZ".

Thomas,
try "Find qualifier" option. Right button click on an annotation or annotation group in the Annotation Editor -> "Find qualifier", the first context menu item.
