If you have installed Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) Application with version less than 1.9.2.8, then UGENE will crash when you open any "Open file" dialog. It is a glitch in the DBAR application, which was fixed in 1.9.2.8. This application can be preinstalled on Dell laptops of some series. If you need this application, then update it to the latest version. You can download it from the vendor's website. Note that Windows 10 is not supported. If you don't need this application, just uninstall it.
