Title: de-novo assembly
Post by assembler on Jan 7th, 2010 at 5:54pm
Do you have plans to add modules for de-novo genome assembly for 454 and/or Illumina sequencers? I am particularly interested in using it with 454 data. I don't think you have this functionality in the current version but sorry if I missed something.

Many thanks

Hi!

The feature looks interesting.

Do you know if there is a good open-source software we can integrate to solve the problem?

AMOS might be what you are looking for

Thanks Jens, having an assembler in the package is a hot topic for the dev-team now so we will definitely review the AMOS as a good candidate.

BTW have you ever heard about Bowtie project: http://bowtie-bio.sourceforge.net/index.shtml ?
